September is one of our favourite months on the main street.

The first signs of spring begin to appear, weekends start filling with family catch-ups and Father's Day plans, and suddenly there are plenty of reasons to spend a little longer outdoors. It's also the month where Watsonia begins to find its rhythm again, with free community events, live music and plenty happening throughout the precinct.

Whether you're visiting for breakfast, catching up over lunch, picking up a Father's Day gift or simply looking for something to do with the family, we'd love to welcome you to Watsonia this September.

Celebrate Father's Day in Watsonia

If Father's Day is still sitting in the family group chat with a few question marks, we've got a few ideas.

Start the day with breakfast at one of our local cafés, spend some time browsing the shops, find something thoughtful for Dad, then settle in for lunch while free live music drifts throughout the precinct. If you've got little ones with you, stop by Watsy Square where they'll be able to create a Father's Day keepsake to take home.

Meet the Mini Farm Animals

One of our favourite monthly traditions returns to Watsy Square this September.

Our free Mini Farm has become one of those events where children head straight for the animals while parents grab another coffee, wander the main street and decide where to have lunch afterwards. It rarely ends where it starts, and that's exactly what we love about it.

Footy Finals, the Local Way

Whether you're meeting friends after work, grabbing dinner before the game or making the most of the long weekend atmosphere, we'll be adding free live music throughout Watsonia Shops across two Fridays in September.

It's another reason to slow down, support local and enjoy a few extra hours on the main street.

Make a Day of It

The events might bring you to Watsonia, but we hope you'll stay a little longer.

Start with breakfast at your favourite café, browse the boutiques, pick up something special for Father's Day, stop for lunch, enjoy a coffee or discover a business you've never walked into before. One of the nicest things about a local main street is that plans have a habit of changing once you're here.

If you're looking for somewhere to eat, drink, shop or simply spend a few hours exploring, our Business Directory is the best place to start. We've brought together everything from cafés, restaurants and bakeries to fashion, gifts, health services, beauty, professional services and everyday essentials, making it easy to discover everything Watsonia has to offer.

Welcome to Watsonia Shops, officially known as the Watsonia Traders Association, though most people simply call us Watsonia Shops. The traders of Watsonia have been part of this community for decades, long before we officially incorporated as a volunteer-led traders association in 2000 (under Consumer Affairs).
